When the weather gets warm in NYC street fairs are the place to be. There’s so many to take advantage of. Last week we published a list of the most popular annual street fairs in New York City, but the city has more to choose from. Any native New Yorker knows how much fun a block party is. For the non-New Yorkers a block party is a BBQ party in the street within a local neighborhood. The street is usually blocked off on both ends to stop cars from driving on the street so kids can play and neighbors can enjoy barbecue for adults.
For people visiting New York City, getting an invitation to a block party is difficult. That’s why we put together a list of the 2024 pop up street fairs and food events happening this summer in New York City.
Check the dates and location for each of these fairs before creating your travel plan for NYC. If you need help, our team creates custom tailored travel plans. We help travelers enjoy the New York City experiences they want based on the time they have. Contact us to build your tailored plan.

Where: Ninth Avenue between 42nd and 57th Streets, Manhattan, New York City
In the heart of New York City's culinary scene, Hell's Kitchen transforms every May for the Ninth Avenue Food Festival. This culinary extravaganza boasts over 100 food vendors serving up a diverse range of international cuisines, from Thai to Mexican to Italian, ensuring there's something to satisfy every craving. But the festival isn't just about the food; it's a vibrant celebration with live music, entertainment, and engaging arts and crafts activities for kids. So, don't miss out! Take a leisurely stroll along Ninth Avenue from 42nd to 57th Streets and treat yourself to a feast for the senses from 10 am to 6 pm. When: September 12 to September 22, 2024
Where: Little Italy, Manhattan
The San Gennaro Festival is a must-do during any fall trip to NYC. Its roots trace back to 1926 when immigrants from Naples, residing on Mulberry Street, held the first feast. This cultural gem, perhaps the last authentic Italian-American tradition left in the neighborhood, invites you to indulge in Italian street food classics. Wander through the lively streets, full of carnival games and booths, and savor the aroma of pizzas, sausage & peppers, and irresistible treats like cannoli and zeppole.
When: September 12 to September 22, 2024
Where: Arthur Avenue & East 187th Street, The Bronx
Arthur Avenue's annual Ferragosto festival is a touch more authentic than San Gennaro (although both are must-do's). With roasting pigs, live cigar rolling, live traditional Italian music, and more, it's a vibrant celebration that's well worth a trip to the middle of the Bronx. But the festivities are just the beginning. In this neighborhood, you'll also discover some of the city's best Italian American restaurants, markets, bakeries, and even an Italian American library and cultural center—the Belmont Library.
